Datasheet
DescriptionThe PC61 monoclonal antibody reacts with CD25, a 55Kda low affinity IL-2 receptor a chain. CD25 is expressed on activated T and B lymphocytes, an early stage of thymocytes, pre-B cells and T regulatory cells. IL-2Ra combines with IL-2Rß (CD122) and common ? chain (CD132) to form the high affinity signaling IL-2R. CD25 is involved in lymphocyte differentiation, activation and proliferation. The PC61 antibody recognizes different epitope of CD25 from mAb 3C7, mAb 7D4 and the IL-2 binding site, but it can block binding of IL-2 to CD25.This antibody is routinely tested by flow cytometric analysis to ensure the product quality.

BackgroundThe interleukin 2 (IL2) receptor alpha (IL2RA) and beta (IL2RB) chains, together with the common gamma chain (IL2RG), constitute the high-affinity IL2 receptor. Homodimeric alpha chains (IL2RA) result in low-affinity receptor, while homodimeric beta (IL2RB) chains produce a medium-affinity receptor. Normally an integral-membrane protein, soluble IL2RA has been isolated and determined to result from extracellular proteolyisis. Alternately-spliced IL2RA mRNAs have been isolated, but the significance of each is presently unknown. Mutations in this gene are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency.
